Still trudging along

Posted by on July 29, 2013

It’s a long old journey, and unless you are doing it day in, day out then the path never seems to get much shorter. No, I’m not talking about the trail, I’m describing the other lonely journey of website developer.

Hikerbox is still up and running and the renewal is due shortly, but have no fear I will keep the site alive a while longer. There’s apparently (due to the lack of feedback received) no interest in having an online databook and all things must come to an end eventually.

If anyone uses the site, please get in touch, it may motivate me to do more with it.

If you’re hiking in 2013, I hope it’s going well for you and your feet are holding up against the sweat, rocks and bears.

I am one that uses your website often. I have printed sections of the AT that I was hiking for each of my section hike, twice a year for the last two years!

I have also used your site as a planning tool as I planning each of my hikes. I, for one, would miss it if this site went down. So hang in there. I feel there are many more like me who make use of your site and like me, do not know how badly you needed feedback.

So, I for one, hope you do keep up the online database as I find it a useful tool to plan my hikes.

Thanks again for all you do!

Thanks Jack, feedback is invaluable in keeping the site alive and keeping it in my thoughts so that it gets included when I’m prioritising what to work on next.

Thanks Danny, I appreciate the comment. I’ll endeavor to add some more updates in the near future. If you find any errors during your hike, I’d appreciate you passing them on.
